I didn’t feel like celebrating my birthday, but I DO feel like celebrating that I made it through the whole thing without crying.

I’ve been trying to draw EB at her wedding a few weeks ago…this is the first one that has come out sort of close to ok… (it’s one of those things, though, that’s kind of too beautiful for me to be able to represent with any satisfaction.) …………………………… and this is another one of me in the dress that I...

that I have been working on for quite a few weeks, and that I wore last night to my friend E’s wedding…looks kind of like this: [I, of course, do not look much like this…as in, for one thing, I have elongated myself quite drastically in this illustration. Furthermore, the wedding to which I wore the dress was at the New Museum of Contemporary Art, in a room up on the top that...

MORALS CHARGE The morals of my scattered tale: wear what you want; don’t let designers bully you; visit flea markets to create trends of your own; don’t be afraid of the return of the repressed; wash your vintage items so they don’t stink; think of the concept that you’re dressing toward (French sailor during Fleet Week); don’t be afraid to abandon a favorite...
